Our History

When a successful Idaho businessman, and a mother of eight first crossed paths, they didn?t expect to be united in a common cause more than 20 years later!Don Aslett and Sandra Phillips each had separate visions of a family dream home that could practically maintain itself. Don first wrote the book, ?Make Your House

Do the Housework.? Shortly afterward, Sandra general contracted her family?s home in Southern California, using the concepts in Don?s book. Don followed suit and built his own home in Hawaii. The two compared notes and realized each of their homes had unique low-maintenance features, but there was more that could be done.

Articles were generated, TV appearances began, and the public began sharing experiences of their own remodeling and homebuilding. The concept of making a home more than just low-maintenance?one that could strengthen families through structure, was conceived.

Students and faculty at Brigham Young University were next consulted on latest and best practices in homebuilding. Live-Right, dba InHomeVations, gave grant monies to explore the concept further. Articles and ideas were generated and assembled, and the Live-right Home? concept was launched.

The Live-right Home? integrates:

The latest technologies -->to increase safety, communication, time

Affordable construction-->using the right products means less replacement (asset management)

Low-maintenance materials-->easily sustainable surfaces and colors mean less cleaning, save time, and look good longer (sustainability)

Environmentally-sparing construction-->conserve earth?s resources

Aesthetically pleasing designs-->promote visual peace and harmony

All this within an architectural construct that encourages order, discipline, and affable behavior in the family home.
